SHORT-TERM CAREER IN HISTORY OF ART

This is a two-year career with a non-formal education program that offers the most relevant tendencies in visual arts from the Ancient World -Prehistoric Art to Roman Art- to the first half of the 20th century.

During the first year (Initial Level), the contents will be analyzed chronologically: from the Ancient Art (3,000 B.C.) up to the Baroque in the 17th century.
The second year (Initial Level), the students will continue with the historical and cultural development of the arts till the end of the first quarter of the 20th century.
According to the Resolution No.5/97 issued by the Secretariat of Culture of the Argentine Republic, and to the Resolution No. 573/02 issued by the Secretariat of Culture of the Government of the capital city of Buenos Aires, the courses of this career have been declared as of cultural  interest.

COMPLEMENTARY EXTENSIVE COURSES

These courses are divided into units that help to develop some of the topics analyzed in the short-term career. Occasionally, new specific subjects will be studied thoroughly to provide a deep training to the students in those aspects the teachers consider it necessary.  E.g.:”The other Renaissance. The Flemish painting and its projection”.

According to the Resolution No. 5/97 issued by the Secretariat of Culture of the Argentine Republic and, to the Resolution No.573/02 issued by the Secretariat of Culture of the government of the capital city of Buenos Aires, the courses of this career have been declared as of cultural interest.

PLASTIC ARTS. DRAWING AND PAINTING WORKSHOP

The Friends’ Association offers an interesting variety of workshops. Attendance is non-restrictive. There's a multiple range of possibilities: there are workshops in which the formal teaching of drawing prevails, while there are others in which students learn how to use the color techniques by going through the experience of color itself. These workshops give the learners a wide selection of elementary resources that will help them to initiate their knowledge of the arts through the several techniques they learn in the classroom. On the other hand, these workshops are meant to develop the learner's creativity by going though a personal voyage of self-discovery.

Our workshops have high quality since they are in charge of artists who are nationally and internationally renowned.

Previous experience is not required to attend these workshops and the students' learning will be followed personally by their teachers.

If you are interested in taking up any of these workshops, you may do so at any time of the year as long as there are vacancies. Maximum number of students: 20 for each workshop. If there are less than 8 students in a workshop, then the Association has the right to close it.

When students begin their workshops, they get a free kit with the basic materials to be used in the first class.

Workshops start in March and end in November. There's no break in winter holidays.

A workshop's fee is $250.- per month.
